The Most Expensive Home in America
Palazzo di Amore – the most expensive home in the U.S. at
$195,000,000. This estate features a 12-bedroom Mediterranean-style mansion and
a vineyard. The main 35,000-square-foot main house sits on 25 acres with
sweeping views of Los Angels and the surrounding scenery.
“Approach Palazzo di Amore through three grand sets of double gates, pass the security guard house and meander along a wide, quarter-mile, tree-lined drive, and behold the vast, stunning vineyards. A breathtaking waterfall is surrounded by a precisely manicured hillside, a scene which perfectly represents the simultaneously serene and sophisticated property. With twelve bedrooms, twenty-three bathrooms, state-of-the-art security, and hand-selected materials, Palazzo di Amore embodies splendor and magnificence. Elegance is the language spoken here: marbled two-story sky-lit entry with graceful twin curving staircases, elaborate inlaid flooring, sculpted hearths and mantels, and rooms too numerous to name.
Daily life at Palazzo di Amore embraces the spacious loggias, the luxuriant gardens, the sparkling pools and the majestic vistas beyond. The resplendent living room, dining room, breakfast room, game room, office and family room open onto the gorgeous grounds. A colonnade spans the grand dining room, which has intricate multi-colored marble inlaid floors, extravagant molding details and groin vault ceilings. An adjacent approximately 3,000-bottle wine cellar and tasting room provides a stately setting to savor both the owner’s world class wine collection and the estate’s uniquely personal private label. The vineyard produces a bountiful 400-500 cases per year of wine made from classic varietals, including Sangiovese, Syrah, Cabernet, Merlot, Rose and Sauvignon Blanc. The Alberto Pinto-designed grand chef’s kitchen comes replete with exquisite classically styled cabinetry and every dreamed-of appliance, including a commercial walk-in refrigerator. This wing of the estate also features a secondary staff kitchen, a fully-equipped butler’s pantry, two staff rooms, a three-car attached garage and a suite of two private offices with separate entry (via here)."
The Palazzo di Amore surpassed the $139 million asking price
for Le Palais Royal – a 60,500 square foot estate near Fort-Lauderdale,
Florida.
This Beverly Hills palace was developed by Mohamed Hadid and
is owned by entrepreneur Jeff Greene. After eight years of renovating, he is
finally selling the property – capitalizing on the influx of wealthy investors
from overseas and their interest in luxury property in the U.S.
