Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni’s exquisite
Italian home on the rolling hills of Tuscany is now for sale.
Located on over six acres atop rolling hills, the 12,915
square feet of living space are contained within three multi-story buildings,
including an ancient tower dating back to the 11th century. The original
architecture is featured throughout with large stone fireplaces and beamed and
barrel ceilings. The home consists of eight bedrooms and seven full baths which
all pay homage to the period while including modern conveniences blended into
the background.
The kitchen features the rustic romantic style of the early
centuries with high-end appliances. Grounds are park-like in style with lawns
and mature plantings with a lemon orchard, olive grove and Chianti vineyards as
well as the original oil mill.
This piece of history has been preserved and restored by the
current owner and is now for sale at a modest $8,162,821. The original deed
held by Michelangelo – in which he is described as “a dear sculptor and
Florentine citizen,” will be passed on the new owner.
Truly a breathtaking property - iconic in its own right for its
16th century architecture and made more so for its personal connection
to one of the greatest artists in history.
